Wall 600

Wall 600 was changed from an MSE wall to a PCRS wall.  The wall was constructed in the Rose Creek drainage channel with potentially high flood levels and scour and limited access between the environmental area and the active railroad.  The wall also had to be constructed over very poor foundation soil conditions and the Rose Canyon Fault, which is considered an “Active” fault.

The PCRS wall consisted of a monolithic horizontal and vertical counterfort system with up to 3 tiers and had to interface with a new concrete channel.  The wall was designed to support large freight train surcharge loading (4 Cooper E80 loaded train tracks).  Wall 600 was approximately 850 feet long for a total 6,500 square feet of retaining wall.
